In 1996, we held our 1st Annual Peace Day, an event that further focuses on celebrating the beauty of the human spirit. This October, we will hold our 12th Annual Peace Day at Washington Prep. High School in Los Angeles. Students will be bussed from throughout LA County and surrounding areas. Community self help groups will set up booths and provide information about their organizations, community entertainers (children and adults) will perform throughout the day, celebrities will participate in a panel that discusses the entertainment industry and current events as they relate to creating a peaceful environment (former participants include: Dante Basco, "Biker Boys", Rosario Dawson, "25th Hour", Lisa Gay Hamilton, formerly of "The Practice", Patrika Darbo, "Days of Our Lives", Richard Kind, formerly of "Spin City", Ann Marie Johnson, "In the Heat of The Night"/"Hollywood Shuffle". Valerie Ray Miller, "Dark Angel" and many more).

There will be a celebrity basketball game and area schools (K-12) will participate in an art and essay competition, "What Peace Means to Me". The Los Angeles City Attorney's Office will lead a Days of Dialogue discussion on PEACE and there will be a host of participating sponsors. Last years sponsors included: KIIS FM, STAR, the BEAT, KZLA, POWER, Nabisco, the Cheesecake Factory, Showtime, Warner Brothers and Circuit City. Pepsi Co./Dole brought refreshing drinks, The BEAT Street Team hosted a live broadcast and the Laker Girls signed autographs!

Peace Day 1999 was held at Santa Monica High School, three days after the Columbine Shootings in Littleton, CO. Out of that Peace Day, the events surrounding Littleton and a tear jerking, brutally honest discussion between children and celebrities during the celebrity panel, part three of Peace Quest was born...the play, "Dear Mom and Dad". "Dear Mom and Dad" is a response from children, expressing their viewpoints on what is going on in their lives & the world around them. The stories, as do the ones from "Dear Child", are based on the real life experiences of the performers involved. Because of the diverse make-up of the cast, every child finds someone to identify with and parents finally get to hear talk about...EVERYTHING!
