| At every performance over the past 8 years, we have helped children deal with a social-emotional issue that is holding them back. This is not speculation. This is a fact. Through our performances, workshops and dialogues, we have:
*Stopped at least three teenage girls from committing suicide- two who had already attempted it in the past and two who still communicate with us 6 years after our first meeting,
*Seen teenage boys breakdown in tears and begin to openly discuss a need for communication and love between them and their fathers,
*Seen high school children crying at scenes that depict their abusive home lives and then seeing us a year later smiling because they have discussed our show with their parents and things are getting better.
*Watched children from juvenile detention centers convicted of everything from armed robbery to rape and murder cry because a scene touched on something in their lives...and they have then discussed it with us. We usually leave those shows wondering what would have happened had we performed 6 months earlier at their school?
At EVERY show, we have at least one child who finds one of our actors to talk to because they identify with the story that actor presented on stage. Students have come to us and expressed gratitude for the role Peace Quest and its show, Dear Child, has played in their lives.
A young adult African American male stated that, "I am so thankful for this group because I would probably be in jail or dead if I wasn't involved with you all."
